Carolina Forest is a very popular community in Myrtle Beach for those new to the area. A few of our favorite communities, Sago Plantation & Turnberry Park, are located in that region of Myrtle Beach. The Grand Strand is home to thousands of people from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and West Virginia. Many of whom reside in Carolina Forest and are familiar with Panera Bread, a famous restaurant chain known for it’s soups, salads and sandwiches, and excited about one coming to the area after all of these years. Here are a few businesses which are moving into Carolina Forest:
This popular grocery store chain has already built locations in Pawleys Island and North Myrtle Beach this past year, so why not stick another one in Carolina Forest? Located across the street from Kroger in the empty lot to the left of Ollies Bargain Outlet (formerly Piggly Wiggly), there is currently a 49,000 square foot Publix being built. This store is bringing over 150 new jobs to the area, which is awesome. Some features of the store are a deli, bakery, wine area and prep section with free recipes and samples. Publix isn’t the cheapest grocery store by any means, but the quality of meat and produce seems to be a step above it’s competition. It’s set to be open to the public in 2016.
Most of us are unfamiliar with this pizza joint considering only one location exists in South Carolina (Charleston). Founded in Seattle, Washington, MOD Pizza has quite a few locations in various states across the country. Their pizza appears to be of the thin crust variety with 10 pre-made selections including the Capspian (mozzarella, gorgonzola, BBQ sauce, chicken, sliced red onions) and the Calexico (mozzarella, gorgonzola, chicken, jalapeños, buffalo sauce, MOD red sauce). If you feel like creating your own pizza, you can choose from 5 different sauces, 6 cheeses, 11 meats, 21 veggies & good stuff and 7 finishing sauces for a total of 48,510 different combinations! Salads, bread sticks and milkshakes will also be available. There is no information out yet on when construction will begin.
Oh Panera Bread, it’s been too long! The closest thing to Panera that Myrtle Beach ever had was Atlanta Bread Company, all of which have gone out of business in the past year or two. Myrtle Beach has been lacking a quality place to get delicious breads, homemade soups and healthy salads all in one convenient location. Plans for a 4,200 square foot stand alone Panera Bread with a drive-thru have been submitted for review, thus adding another reason to move to the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach! Now, if Sheetz gas stations only made their way further south we could all stop complaining about that!
